In 2019, our founder struggled to get a garage that would fix his Volvo S80 engine- heating issue. Most of the garages in Bujumbura, Burundi had never repaired any Volvo before and refused to take the risk. When he finally took his car to a recommended garage, he was informed that he needed to replace an engine head gasket and a coolant pipe. As he could not find any of the spare parts in Burundi, he had to ship them at three times their price from abroad. In the process of replacing the engine head gasket, the garage employees damaged the car engine. He then had to buy a new engine from Dubai and brought a mechanic from Kenya to fix it. A car repair that would ordinarily take a few days, ended up taking 11 months! An idea to start a business that would enable clients in Burundi and beyond to enjoy owning any type of car without worrying about spare parts and repairs was born.
